What exactly is BPA and why are some Field Day products still in packaging that contain BPA?

BPA is a chemical compound used to make certain types plastics and epoxy resins that can be used for food packaging. Field Day’s position on BPA is that we will always choose the Non-BPA option when available. We utilize Non-BPA can linings, BPA-Free plastic (examples: fruit cups, nut butters), BPA-Free lids and caps (examples: dressings, olive oils), BPA-Free films (examples: pasta, tortilla chips) in these and other categories. Our suppliers are working hard to source alternatives that are proven safe, effective, and are regulated appropriately. Once a BPA replacement is identified, its performance must be tested over the shelf life of the particular food product and receive safety and regulatory approval before it can be used. Field Day is working closely with its current product suppliers to adopt BPA Free packaging where ever possible while maintaining Field Day’s high nutrition and quality standards. Field Day will identify BPA Free packaging on its product labels and website whenever possible.

If a product has the Non-GMO Project Verified Logo that means it has been validated by the outside organization.

Are Field Day Paper Products biodegradable?

All of Field Day tissue products, facial tissues and bath tissues, are biodegradable as they immediately start to breakdown in the toilet/septic system.  The paper towels are considered compostable, meaning in a bio-composing environment they can breakdown.  Paper towels are not officially considered biodegradable as it gets disposed in the trash and ends up in the landfill, where it eventually breaks down, but the break down process is not fast enough to earn the biodegradable label.
